Airports
Reno-Tahoe International Airport is a mid-sized airport uniquely located close to the central business district. It offers over 176 daily flights to 18 cities non-stop and 19 cities in one-stop. Reno-Tahoe International also accommodates five air cargo operators including DHL, FedEx, and UPS along with 10 passenger carriers.
Reno Stead Airport is the area's general aviation airport located just 15 miles north of Reno. The 5,000-acre facility is also home to world renowned National Championship Air Races, which attracts more than 200,000 attendees each year!
Railroads
Two of the nation’s largest railroad operations service Greater Reno-Tahoe. Union Pacific rail network links 23 states, plus every major West Coast and Gulf Coast port and provides service to the east through its major gateways in Chicago, St. Louis, Memphis and New Orleans. Additionally, Union Pacific operates key north/south corridors and is the only railroad to serve all six gateways to Mexico. Burlington Northern Santa Fe rounds out the region’s railway access with 33,500 route miles covering 28 states and 2 Canadian provinces. Inter-modal yards and container freight facilities are conveniently located in Sparks along Interstate 80. A switching yard is located in Fernley. And AMTRAK provides passenger services along popular routes.
