RENO, Nevada (Dec. 7, 2017) – Twenty-nine companies that relocated to Greater Reno-Sparks  and existing local companies that expanded their workforce this year, were honored at EDAWN’s “New and Expanded Companies” welcome reception today. More than 400 local business and government leaders also attended the event. One of the recent additions to the region is Asia Union Electronic Chemical Corporation (AUECC), a technically advanced, global, leader in the manufacturing, purification, packaging, and distribution of ultra-pure process chemistry used in the semiconductor, flat panel display, and solar cell markets. The new facility in the TRI Center, Storey County is currently under construction and is scheduled to be operational in Q4 2018.  AUECC is expected to hire more than 100 employees over the next few years.

AUECC is headquartered in Taipei, Taiwan and has additional operations located in China, Philippines, Singapore, and Japan. As the microelectronics industry becomes increasingly demanding, continuous improvement is the driving force behind the company’s development of new and advanced processes and products to maintain its leadership as a preferred supplier.

“AUECC is very excited to be able to call Northern Nevada home to our USA Headquarters,” said Morgan Cawthon, President, AUECC North America.  “The decision to locate the first of our high tech manufacturing plants in Storey County was underscored by the tremendous support offered by Governor Sandoval’s office and the collaborative approach to business development experienced with Storey County’s permitting officials.”

“AUECC has been a phenomenal company to work with,” said Pat Whitten, Storey County Manager. “At their expense, they flew our permitting team to Taiwan to review and better understand their facility and operational safety standards. We are excited and pleased they have chosen Storey County and Northern Nevada for their US based operations.”

“2017 was another impressive year, with 29 new and expanding companies adding more than 2,800 new quality jobs to the region over the next few years,” said Mike Kazmierski, President and CEO of EDAWN. “We are also very excited to welcome AUECC. Also in attendance at the EDAWN event which was held at the Peppermill Resort Spa Casino was the City of Reno, Mayor Hillary Schieve and Assistant City Manager, Bill Thomas; Sparks City Councilmember, Ron Smith; Washoe County Commissioner, Vaughn Hartung; City of Fernley Manager, Daphne Hooper; and Storey County Commissioner, Marshall McBride.
